Being a personal care attendant for someone with significant disabilities can be challenging. It is sometimes difficult to balance that our home is a workplace and a home at the same time. Mallory intuitively finds that balance. She is always considerate of the decisions that my husband and I make with regard to his care and our lifestyle. She knows when to jump-in to help as well as when to step-out of a situation.
Being a personal care attendant requires multi-tasking and, often, decision-making in very high stress situations. Mallory is able to prioritize needs and develop a plan of action quickly and calmly. She knows when to ask questions; in this position, it important to know when you don’t know something and how to get accurate information quickly.
Mallory is a truly kind person. We love having her in our home and trust her with the challenges of my husband’s care."
This was a special experience for me since i have been friends with Mallory since we were in grade school. Mallory was so comforting and gentle with the way she explained information and went over things. She also was very adamant about getting things to me such as my birth plan and was sure to ask if i had any questions. At the time of birth I remember her holding my hand and feeling her love transpire. She was a jem.
Sancken was also a great for me in this very special time. She has so much knowledge and experience in this practice. It was very reassuring to have her there for me, if i had questions or just needed to get grounded when i felt like things weren't working in my favor. She kept reminding me that all was going to be fine and at the end i would have the best gift in my life. At the time of birth she was very good at trying to get me in the most comfortable position and making sure my needs were met. She was amazing and i'm so happy i was able to have these two lovely ladies alongside me to conquer my start to motherhood!
Mallory and I met when I was 7 months pregnant. She was invested in me and my baby from the start – sharing information, asking the right questions, and helping me build affirmations and confidence well in advance of the due date. Our birth story was exceptional – 36 hours of labor followed by a cesarean birth – and Mallory was integral in every step. Most importantly, during over 16 hours of natural labor and contractions (and all through the night), Mallory offered guidance, positions, support. We were in and out of the tub, on all fours, on a ball, getting a back/hip massage, thinking about breathing, etc. Her calm demeanor perfectly complimented me and my husband to create a very calm labor experience despite the actual intense labor pains. My husband also was extremely grateful to have Mallory there for the expertise, but also so he could get a mental and physical break in the middle of the night. Mallory perfectly complemented the nurses and doctors, earning and returning respect. When, for medical reasons, we had to move to cesarean, Mallory supported me emotionally and focused on delivering a healthy, happy baby. I highly recommend Mallory’s consultation and support for mamas out there.
